We are excited to announce that Glenda was recently interviewed for the publication, Southeast Equine Magazine. The magazine interviews different professionals that are experts in topics of interest to their readers. Glenda’s topic was: “I am taking my young horse off the farm for their first outing. What are some things I can do to prepare in order to have a successful outing?”

One of Playland’s homebreds, PL Calib (now known as Excalibur), is in Aiken South Carolina with their trainer, Sinead Halpin. We are excited that they are getting the opportunity to compete down south this winter and wish them the best of luck!
Just recently, at the February 7th-9th Ocala Horse Properties Winter II Horse Trials Corinna and Excalibur placed 16th in Training Horse-B division. Great job Corinne!
Check out this testimonial from one of our recent horse sales. We couldn’t be happier for Empress and her new owner!
“Empress, the 8-year-old Irish Sport Horse/Arab cross that I bought from Glenda Player this past fall, is simply the nicest horse I’ve ever sat on — and I’ve sat on a lot, as I’ve climbed the ladder to competing up to preliminary eventing. Her step is lovely and she covers a lot of ground, though she stands at about 15.2. Most importantly, she has a winning attitude — she treats work as play, and it’s always fun. The bigger the jump, the broader her smile.
Buying a horse can be frustrating, as you’ve got to kiss a thousand frogs and all that. But with Empress, the moment I put my feet in the stirrups and felt her trot and canter, I knew. During the pre-purchase, the vet said he rarely encounters such strong and healthy feet, a sentiment that has been echoed by every blacksmith she’s encountered (she hasn’t yet worn shoes).
If I were ever to buy another horse, the first place I’d stop would be Playland Farm. Horses like Empress are hard to find, and you’re darned lucky when you come upon one. I thank the cosmos every day for my good fortune. Granted, I’m her owner, but ask anyone who has seen me on this horse– including the professional Olympians who coach me– and they will nod their head in agreement. Empress is simply the best.”
Everyone from the Playland Farm team sends Rosa Lehnig of Lehnig Eventing our sincere and deepest condolences on the loss of her beloved Flynn, aka: PL Irish Thunder.
We thank her for all the love and excellent care and training she bestowed on Flynn. We hope that she will find comfort through this time of grief in knowing she gave him the best throughout his entire life.
The Stephen Bradley Clinic at Playland was a huge success! Thank you to everyone that came to participate and audit and braved the cold frigid temperatures! Also, a huge thank you to our clinician Stephen and our fantastic organizer, Erinn Murphy!
The Stephen Bradley Jumping Clinic to be held at the farm this Saturday, January 4th, is filling up fast! There are only a few spots left so email Erinn at firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP to reserve your spot! Stephen is one of Playland’s favorite clinicians and his clinics are always exciting and educational.
Playland Farm is happy to announce that our beloved school horse and broodmare, Calico, has found her forever home and has been sold! We couldn’t be happier for her new owners.
