Breeding: About

During the ‘off breeding season,’ Diamond enjoys his time foxhunting with the Carrollton Hounds.

“I bought “Coy” (PL Sequoyia) when he was only 3-years-old. Just having retired from a busy career at IBM, I wanted the experience of training my own horse. I fell in love with this unique rose grey tobiano paint when my 4-year-old granddaughter ran into my barn in the backyard ahead of me. I got there just in time to see her wrapping her arms around his legs and hugging him — he just stood there, looking down at her, and did NOT move! Who would think this Arab/Saddlebred-cross, making a National Show Horse would be so GENTLE with children as a 3-year-old! His light, airy dressage movements make him a pleasure to ride! I especially love to take him out on the trails and around the fields surrounding my farm. He certainly has a place for life in my barn!”

"We bought PL Diamond's Inspiration "Izzy" for our daughter, Lexi in 2016, and cannot thank Glenda enough for breeding such a wonderful horse. They have moved up the levels together, and currently compete in the 2*, with plans to move up to the 3* in the summer. We have big-name trainers like David O'Connor and Phillip Dutton compliment Izzy and ask where she is from.  Izzy is the horse of a lifetime, and we plan on buying another one of Diamond's offspring this year"

Diamond’s offspring have established themselves as versatile, athletic, and willing horses that are competitors for both amateur and professional riders. They have been started under saddle and ridden by young riders and adult amateurs with success in many disciplines, including PL Diamond’s Inspiration who is winning at the Preliminary level piloted by a junior.

“PL Irish Thunder amazes me every ride! He has the type of spark to make it to the advanced level. He is incredibly sane, willing, and naturally athletic! He clears fences effortlessly, his trot is full of suspension and impulsion, and his canter stride is far reaching! Flynn is everything I wanted in an upper level prospect and I have no doubt we will get there.”

“Decor had a puppy dog personality from the start! It didn’t take me long to develop a trusting and bonding relationship. He’s a fun, all around horse. I have been concentrating on dressage the past two years but we also love to jump and he is good on trails. He’s a lot of fun to take to shows! I’m very proud he won a 2007 PVDA Year End High Score Award at the Training Level! I plan on taking him to several clinics in 2008 and competing him at First Level. Who knows how far our potential will take us! He is smart, talented, of course good looking, and a complete joy to work with — all the things Playland Farm strives to breed into their prodigy!”
